In March 2019, four Trainings in Basic Organic Farming were organized in Ban Mai Nai Soi camp and Ban Mae Surin camp in Mae Hong Son’s Muang and Khun Yuam District.
Two training courses, organized on March 13 and 20, in Ban Mai Nai Soi and Ban Mae Surin, respectively, were about organic farming or natural farming, without using chemical substance which is harmful to living and environment. The trainees were trained about 1) soil preparation which has three necessary steps: ploughing, leveling and manuring prior to cultivation; 2) knowing plants that will grow and yield well in each season; and 3) it is very important to select the perfect seeds and keep them for next cultivation, instead of buying new seeds every season. By this way, natural farming system is healthy as well as cost reducing.
The training held in Ban Mai Nai Soi on March 13, 2019 had 56 participants of 33 female and 23 male. Another training held in Ban Mae Surin on March 20, had 26 participants of 14 female and 12 male.
